Li Jiangang

Li Jiangang, Male, Han ethnicity, Member of the Communist Party of China. Holds a Master's degree. Accredited as Associate Research Fellow in 2017. Specializes in research on the mechanisms of disastrous weather in Central Asia, presided over 8 projects, including 1 national fund project, 3 provincial and ministerial-level projects and 3 department-level projects, has also been a key participant in ten projects of various types, including the National Key Research and Development Program, Xinjiang Natural Fund Key Projects, and the topics of the Autonomous Region Key Research and Development Program, has tackled the technical challenges in the localization identification indicators of Central Asian mesoscale convective systems (MCS), determined the warning levels of Central Asian MCS, systematically summarized the spatiotemporal distribution, formation mechanism, mesoscale characteristics, and the impact on precipitation areas of Xinjiang MCS, and developed the "Central Asian MCS Tracking and Warning Platform" for business application, has published 19 papers in total, granted 8 patents, completed three monographs, and has been awarded the Second Prize for Science and Technology Progress of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the Second Prize for Meteorological Science and Technology Innovation of China Meteorological Service Association, and the title of "Xinjiang Meteorological High-level Backbone Talent".

Zeng Yong
associate research fellow
Zeng Yong, born in May 1990, is an associate researcher at the Urumqi Desert Meteorological Research Institute of the China Meteorological Administration and a master's degree supervisor at the China Meteorological Science Academy. His research is focused on the observation and study of the mechanisms underlying the formation and development of cloud-precipitation physics, cloud water resources, and high-impact weather processes. He was subsequently promoted to the roles of Assistant Researcher and Associate Researcher, a testament to his exceptional merit. He has been selected as a "Young Core Talent" by the Xinjiang Meteorological Bureau (2019), a "Tianshan Talent" by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (2021), a "Young Meteorological Talent" by the China Meteorological Administration (2023), and a "Tianshan Talent—Young Elite Talent" by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (2025). He has been honored with the Second Prize of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Science and Technology Progress Award (2022) and the Second Prize of the Meteorological Science and Technology Innovation Award of the China Meteorological Service Association (2024). He has led nine research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub-projects of the National Key Research and Development Program, the Tianshan Talents Project of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and the Natural Science Foundation of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Additionally, he has been a key participant in six national and provincial-level projects. He has published 23 papers as the first author (13 SCI papers and 10 Chinese core papers), two papers as the corresponding author, 22 co-authored papers, and two co-authored monographs (ranked 2nd and 6th).

Jiang Shengxia

Jiang Shengxia, master, associate researcher, mainly focuses on the research of dendroclimatology and dendrochemistry. She has hosted 3 scientific research projects, published 10 papers as the first or corresponding author, and participated in the compilation of 3 monographs.

Li Shujuan
associate research fellow
Shujuan Li graduated with a Master of Science degree in Meteorology from the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in June 2013. In July of the same year, she joined the Institute of Desert Meteorology, China Meteorological Administration in Urumqi. Her primary research focuses on extreme event analysis, climate diagnostics, and the study of dynamic mechanisms. Since taking office, she has presided over 1 project of the Regional Natural Science Foundation, 1 project of the Central Asia Fund, and 1 project of the scientific research operation fund. She had also participated in more than ten projects, including 4 national-level projects, 1 provincial and ministerial-level project, and other projects, among which she was a key member in 1 national-level project. She had published more than 20 papers in core journals in total. In addition, She was a key participant in formulating and releasing 3 local standards, and participated in the compilation of several decision-making consultation reports. During her research, she has been engaged in research on such aspects as the verification and correction of climate model forecast effects, the forecast and early warning of snowmelt floods, and the assessment of climate resources.
