The Western Tianshan Cloud and Precipitation Physics Field Comprehensive Observation Experiment Base represents the most comprehensive, technologically advanced, and scientifically rich cloud and precipitation process observation facility in Northwest China. This base plays a pivotal role in advancing research on the fine-scale structures of severe convective weather systems and the evolutionary characteristics of mesoscale systems over Xinjiang. It is instrumental in monitoring and quantitatively assessing cloud water resources, investigating the macro- and microphysical properties of clouds and precipitation, and advancing quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE).
